Adoption Fees and FAQs
Are you ready to adopt a friend for life? Well ... we always have beautiful, loving animals that are looking for their "forever" homes!
HV-GB SPCA ADOPTION PROCESS - HOW IT WORKS
The HV-GB SPCA processes applications IN ORDER OF THE DATE THEY ARE RECEIVED and we frequently receive more than one application on the same animal(s).
If someone sends an application on Jan. 1st, for example, for "Puppy X" and we receive another application on "Puppy X" on Jan. 3, then the Jan. 1st application is carefully screened first.
If all conditions are met and the Adoption Committee is satisfied all information is reliable, accurate and credible, then generally speaking, the first applicant is approved. If all conditions are NOT met to the satisfaction of the Adoption Committee, then the second applicant will be considered, and so on.
Please note Facebook messages, text messages, or general emails specifying interest in "Animal XYZ" IS NOT considered an official application. Our formal Adoption Application & Policy Form (located at bottom of page) MUST be filled out & signed and then submitted to us to have official consideration.
You will be contacted afterwards as to which animal(s) you are interested in. If you should have trouble downloading the forms, please contact bonnielearning@gmail.com or spca-hvgb@hotmail.com to have them emailed to you instead.
It is always suggested that if you are interested in adopting but are unsure of an animal, or we currently have none for adoption, send us your application and get pre-approved.
PLEASE NOTE THE ANIMAL(S) YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ON THE FORM, OR EMAIL US AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR FORMS WITH THE ANIMAL(S) NAMES.
The HV-GB SPCA would also appreciate the general public's cooperation and understanding that we are volunteers who have full-time jobs and other commitments that prevents us from processing applications in a timely manner AT TIMES.
However, we do our best with the volunteer manpower we have, and kindly and respectfully ask your cooperation in refraining from frequently calling, emailing or inboxing on the progress of your application.
All applicants are notified when - and if - their application is approved or not approved. Please understand this could be anywhere from one week to three weeks or more.
Please note applications are kept on file for a MAXIMUM OF THREE MONTHS FROM DATE OF RECEIPT.
If you are NOT approved the first time, and find another of our animals that interests you - within the THREE MONTHS - please contact us as soon as possible, so we can make a note on your file right away. If AFTER the three month time frame, kindly fill out another application.
Our adoption process is in place - first and foremost - to find the most suitable home we can for all our precious furbabies, as their well-being is our #1 priority and always will be! :)
The HV-GB SPCA thanks everyone for their kind support of our organization and your interest in all our wonderful animals we have in our care.
Please be assured, if you do NOT get the animal you were first looking for, there will NEVER be a shortage of sweet puppies, kittens, cats or dogs coming through our door at anytime that all need loving, wonderful homes!
Yours in Rescue,
HV-GB SPCA Adoption Committee

Hi friends! So below is a breakdown of our numbers for 2021 with regards to animals! Whew! Amazing, isn’t it?!
THIS is why we count on your support for our fundraisers to help employ the staff we need, the vet care expenses/food/supplies/Bldg insurance/shipping etc etc etc etc! THIS is why fosters are needed! THIS is why people need to spay & neuter their animals! I could go on and on but you get the point! Lol We are aiming to provide monthly stats going forward to keep you informed of what our numbers are! Thanks for your continued support of the HVGB SPCA! We love you all!! |
